Official partner of the French Firefighters Rugby Championship

On June 12, 13, and 14, 2025, the French Firefighters Rugby Championship took place in Béziers. We were delighted to participate in this wonderful event as an official sponsor at the Raoul Barrière stadium. Three men's divisions, one women's division and more than 65 teams competed for the title. It was a moment of cohesion, commitment and perseverance. Values that ultimately unite these two worlds: rugby and the firefighting profession.

1) A weekend dedicated entirely to firefighters

Whether they were professional or volunteer firefighters, from Gers, Gironde, Rhône, Hérault, or even Ile-de-France, they were all united by a single passion: rugby.

Beyond the sport itself, it was also a convivial occasion, with friends and families coming along to cheer on the teams during the championship matches.

We offer you a look back at this event in pictures, where we strolled through the village and walked across the lawn to bring you this event to life. Click on the video below to watch it.

2) A partnership in line with MATISEC's values

As a sponsor, we also had the pleasure of meeting you and talking with you at our booth. Participating in such an event fits perfectly with MATISEC's new dynamic. Jérôme Guibert, head of the Product Information team at MATISEC, who played a major role in setting up the sponsorship, shares his vision of this partnership with us.

  • What motivated MATISEC to support this event?

Rugby and the firefighting profession share strong values that the company holds dear. By partnering with a championship that brings together committed players, the company is showing its support for positive, unifying initiatives.

  • Is this type of partnership part of a broader strategy to support relief workers?

Yes, this partnership is fully in line with our overall strategy to support emergency responders. We believe that emergency professionals—firefighters, first responders, civil security forces—play an essential role in protecting the public. As such, we are committed to supporting them over the long term through partnerships, sponsorship initiatives, and the joint development of equipment tailored to their needs. This type of partnership reflects our desire to be more than just a manufacturer: we want to be a committed partner to those who save lives.

  • As someone involved in security, how do you perceive the link between physical performance, team spirit, and personal protection?

As a security provider, we see physical fitness, team spirit, and personal protection as three inseparable pillars. Physical fitness is essential for responding effectively to emergency situations, sometimes in extreme conditions. Team spirit enables smooth coordination, mutual trust, and collective, rapid, and consistent decision-making. Finally, personal protection ensures everyone's safety, which is an essential condition for responding effectively while preserving the integrity of personnel. These three elements reinforce each other: an agent who is physically well-prepared, integrated into a close-knit team, and properly protected can respond effectively and calmly.

  • How does this combination of values (resilience, performance, protection) translate into your approach to protective and safety equipment?

Our approach to protective and safety equipment is based on the practical integration of three values: resilience, performance, and protection. We prioritize materials and designs that guarantee the durability and robustness of our equipment, ensuring it can withstand hostile environments and intensive use. Operational efficiency is at the heart of our development. We invest in research and innovation to offer products with high technical performance that meet the requirements of emergency response situations. Each piece of equipment is designed to maximize user safety, incorporating strict standards and advanced technologies. Rigorous testing in real-world conditions ensures reliability, effectiveness, and suitability for the realities of the field.

  • To what extent does MATISEC's philosophy of personal protection and performance align with the demands of rugby and the firefighting profession?

MATISEC's philosophy is based on two essential fundamentals: high-level personal protection and performance in action. These principles are perfectly in line with the demands of rugby, an intense contact sport that requires endurance, safety, and team spirit, as well as with the firefighting profession, where risk management, equipment reliability, and operational responsiveness are vital. At MATISEC, we design our equipment to guarantee maximum mobility, optimal ergonomics, and uncompromising protection—qualities that are just as important on the rugby field as they are in an emergency response situation.
