A look back at the Mâcon Firefighters' Congress and Expoprotection in Paris

A busy end to the year with trade shows and conferences. The^130th National Firefighters' Conference was held in Mâcon from September 25 to 28, 2024. We welcomed you with our respiratory, chemical, and CBRN products. Then, from November 5 to 7, we were present at Expoprotection, booth K048 at Paris Portes de Versailles.

A big thank you to everyone who attended the^130th National Firefighters Congress and the Expoprotection trade show. We are delighted to have had the opportunity to talk with you.

This year, 50,000 visitors and 350 exhibitors attended the Congress. Numerous events took place, including charity concerts, tastings, and first aid workshops. Visitors were also able to watch sporting challenges and performances, such as the show put on by the 30 Gymnast Firefighters of the Rhône and Lyon Metropolitan Area.

As every year at the National Firefighters' Congress, we were delighted to see you at our stand. It was an opportunity for us to discuss our products and your experiences with you. The entire MATISEC sales team was there to welcome you. You also had the opportunity to meet some of the after-sales service team who ensure the durability of your products, as well as several members of the R&D team who design them.

You have no doubt seen the best-selling ULM II protective suit for toxic and gaseous environments, as well as the COMAT and DECOMAT protective suits. We presented two machines that are washing solutions. One is designed for SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) and the other for respiratory masks. You may also have seen our SCBA, which is used in both chemical and firefighting operations. It can also be used with the ULM II, which has built-in back protection for the SCBA. Our after-sales service team was on hand to demonstrate our MATITEST EVO test bench, which can independently test SCBA, masks, and diving suits. It offers respiratory equipment quality verification services. 

At the conference, MATISEC highlighted its collaboration with Wearin (a Swiss company) and the Monaco Fire Department on a new technology that is extremely useful to firefighters during high-risk operations. This technology consists of a device that can locate firefighters and provide real-time information on their health status.

The Wearin solution consists of sensors integrated into firefighters' equipment, so there is no risk of hindering their movements when they are in the middle of an operation. These sensors are connected to a digital device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) that allows the data obtained to be viewed. The digital platform that collects this data uses artificial intelligence. It generates two alarms that are triggered in the event of a fall or high heat detection, as well as other signals to ensure the safety of firefighters in action.

The Expoprotection trade show at Paris Portes de Versailles

Expoprotection brings together 650 exhibitors and nearly 16,500 visitors every two years to discuss risk prevention and management. This year, the Expoprotection international trade show took place from November 5 to 7 in Paris at the Expoprotection exhibition center, where we were present at booth K048. The program included conferences on risk prevention and safety, immersive experiences, demonstrations, and an evening dedicated to the Oscars of the French Firefighting Federation.

And at the MATISEC booth? We presented our various product ranges. The chemical protection range with ULM II, the ventilated protection range with MRV5, and the respiratory protection range with GPAL-INCURVE. At this trade show, we focused on nuclear power and in particular our MRV5 suit. The latter is used for maintenance work in contaminated environments. The MRV5 comes in several versions: MRV5 Reinforced, MATILED, MRV5 Shrink, and MRV5 LP.
