A look back at the Mâcon Firefighters Congress and the Expoprotection exhibition in Paris
A busy end to the year for trade shows and conventions. The 130th Congrès National des Sapeurs-Pompiers was held in Mâcon from September 25 to 28, 2024. We welcomed you with our respiratory, chemical and CBRN products. Then, from November 5 to 7, we were present at Expoprotection, stand K048 at Paris Portes de Versailles.
Many thanks to all those who attended the 130th Congrès National des Sapeurs-Pompiers and the Expoprotection trade show, and we're delighted to have been able to talk to you.
This year's event attracted 50,000 visitors and 350 exhibitors. Numerous events took place, including charity concerts, tastings and first-aid workshops. Visitors were also able to take part in sporting challenges and performances, such as the show put on by the 30 firefighting gymnasts from the Rhône and Lyon metropolitan areas.
As we do every year at the Congrès National des Sapeurs-Pompiers, we were delighted to see you at our stand. It was an opportunity for us to talk to you about our products and your experiences. The entire MATISEC sales team was on hand to welcome you. You were also able to meet some of the after-sales staff who ensure the durability of your products, and several of the R&D people who design them.
You've probably already seen the ULM II, our best-seller for protection in toxic and gaseous environments, as well as the COMAT and DECOMAT protective systems. We presented two washing solutions. One dedicated to SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) and the other to breathing masks. You could also see our SCBAs, which are used in both chemical and fire-fighting applications. They can also be used with the ULM II, which has integrated back protection for SCBA. Our after-sales service department was on hand to demonstrate our MATITEST EVO test bench, capable of checking SCBA, masks and diving suits independently. It offers quality control services for breathing apparatus.
On the occasion of this Congress, MATISEC highlighted its collaboration with Wearin (a Swiss company) and the Monaco Fire Brigade on a new technology that is extremely useful to firefighters during high-risk operations. The technology consists of a device that locates the firefighter and provides information on his or her state of health in real time.
The Wearin solution takes the form of sensors integrated into the firefighter's equipment, so there's no risk of interfering with his movements while he's on the job. The sensors are connected to a digital device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enabling the data obtained to be viewed. The digital platform that collects this data works with artificial intelligence. This produces two alarms that are triggered in the event of a fall or high heat detected, as well as other signals to reassure the firefighter in action.

Expoprotection exhibition at Paris Portes de Versailles
Expoprotection is 650 exhibitors and almost 16,500 visitors who come together every two years to discuss risk prevention and control. This year, the Expoprotection international trade show took place in Paris from November 5 to 7 , and we were present at stand K048. The program included conferences on the theme of risk prevention and safety, immersive experiences, demonstrations and an evening dedicated to the Oscars of the French Federation of Fire Trades.
What about the MATISEC stand? We presented our different product ranges. The Chemical protection range with the ULM II, the Ventilated protection range with the MRV5 and the Respiratory protection range with the GPAL-INCURVE. At the show, we focused on the nuclear sector, in particular our MRV5 suit. The latter is used for maintenance activities in contaminated environments. The MRV5 has several product variations: MRV5 Reinforced, MATILED, MRV5 Shrunk, MRV5 LP.
